Week 5 topic was on Web Office Documents. I created several documents using Google Docs. You can create basic documents (word), presentations (PowerPoint), or spreadsheets (excel) in Google Docs. I tried each of the applications out.
Is this the future of all software products? What do you think? I do think this will be the future of all software products, residing on someones server and the user can login from any computer to access the application over the Internet. It may not be free to use for all types of software but it will be the future for software products. The collaboration part I think is neat and will defiantly be the way of the future to work on documents jointly.
I can see some limitations to the use of Google Docs beyond the fact that the features for editing in the documents is basics you need a constant Internet connection. So if your Internet connection is down you will be unable to work on your documents online.
